Alexa Michelle Matos

Founded Atlas after seeing the gap between how campaigns talk and how her community actually listens.

Alexa Michelle Matos

Alexa Matos grew up in Miami, a first-generation college student in a low-income household, in a community where most of her classmates were immigrant kids. Watching her community navigate elections and civic life, she noticed a disconnect: the candidates and progressive organizations meant to serve people like her weren't communicating in ways that actually reached them. Messaging felt built for someone else's neighborhood, not hers.

At the same time, Alexa saw how social media had become one of the most powerful connectors between candidates and the communities they hoped to represent, if used well. That gap, between an outdated political communications playbook and a community fluent in digital culture, is why she founded Atlas Media Strategies.

Alexa graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's in Political Science, and has built her career working across every level of the political ecosystem, from city council and state house races to congressional and presidential campaigns. Her work spans 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s, PACs, and super PACs, giving her a rare, full-spectrum view of how digital strategy needs to flex across different clients, rules, and stakes.

As a Latina founder building a women-led agency, Alexa set out to modernize how Democrats and progressive causes communicate, grounding strategy in the platforms and language her community already trusts. Atlas exists to help candidates, PACs, and advocacy organizations speak to their electorate the way real people actually talk online, and to open doors for the next generation of young, digitally-fluent talent who understand this world instinctively.

Today, Alexa leads Atlas Media Strategies from Florida, helping campaigns and causes across the state turn attention into real, lasting civic action.

Maria Alejandra Fernández

Maria Fernandez is a founding member and Chief Social Media Strategist at Atlas Media Strategies, where she builds organic growth engines for down-ballot campaigns, PACs, and nonprofit advocacy organizations. A Miami native and dual-language communicator, Maria brings a natural fluency in the platforms and communities Atlas serves, shaping messaging that resonates authentically rather than reading as an outside campaign.

At Atlas, she oversees content quality across the agency's nonprofit and PAC accounts and plays a lead role in developing its growing influencer and creator partnerships program. Beyond Atlas, Maria serves as National Vice President of College Democrats of America and as Public Relations Director for FSU College Democrats, where her content drives more than 6 million impressions a month.

Valentina Vasquez

Valentina Vasquez is Atlas Media Strategies' Brand and Growth Strategist, overseeing day-to-day influencer management and relationship coordination for the agency's creator vertical. Currently an undergraduate junior at Florida State University, Valentina is majoring in Finance with a minor in Political Science, on a pre-law track toward a future in corporate law.

A first-generation, bilingual college student who grew up in South Florida with Colombian and Costa Rican roots, Valentina is driven by a commitment to creating opportunities for herself and empowering others to do the same. She brings a sharp eye for fashion and marketing to her work at Atlas, along with a genuine investment in civic engagement and youth empowerment, dedicating much of her free time to volunteering, including work with local animal shelters, and to helping younger generations understand and exercise their rights.

Valentina's blend of finance, political science, and legal training gives her a distinct lens on brand strategy, one that grounds Atlas's influencer partnerships in both business acumen and a deep understanding of the communities the agency serves.

Jared Nunley

Born and raised in Pinellas County, Florida, Jared Nunley discovered his passion for politics through college and community organizing. He attended the University of South Florida through the Student Support Services program, which supports students from low-income backgrounds, and quickly got involved with USF College Democrats, sharpening his skills in organizing, outreach, and campaign operations.

That campus work led to a field management role on Brian Nathan's special election campaign, where in March 2026 Nathan flipped the Republican-leaning Florida Senate District 14 by just 405 votes, a 0.2% margin. The win gave Jared his first taste of victory and cemented his commitment to political organizing.

At Atlas, Jared serves as Tampa Bay Campaigns Director, managing field programs and social media strategy for candidate accounts across the region. He continues to work alongside young and outsider candidates, helping them build the kind of grassroots infrastructure that turns underdog campaigns into wins.

Our Story

Built for the Way People Actually Vote.

Socials aren't just for show, they're a winning strategy. Campaigns are still buying attention the way they did a decade ago, while the electorate has moved somewhere else entirely: onto feeds, into comment sections, and inside the creator economy.

Atlas Media Strategies was built to close that gap. We help campaigns, causes, and organizations develop their social media so they can invest better and reach voters where they already are, rather than where a media plan says they should be.

Stop throwing ad dollars blindly at platforms. We map out a high-retention, targeted social ecosystem, one that converts digital impressions into actual movement at the ballot box.
